Belfast-based law firm Allsopp Campbell Rainey (ACR) has advised on the legal preparations for the launch of Ely Lodge, one of Northern Ireland’s most distinguished country estates, which has come to market with a guide price of £5 million.

Located just six miles from Enniskillen on the southern shores of Lower Lough Erne, the 209-acre estate boasts more than two miles of private lough frontage, a seven-bedroom residence, five cottages, a traditional farmyard, a 2.5-acre walled garden, an arboretum, and a rich mix of pasture and woodland.

The launch of Ely Lodge to the market underlines ACR’s expertise in advising on high-value property transactions across Northern Ireland from landmark estates such as Ely Lodge to modern residential and commercial developments.

Allsopp Campbell Rainey Solicitors are delighted to be instructed on the sale of the ‘once-in-a-generation’ property sale, which was released by Savills.

Neil Allsopp, Partner at Allsopp Campbell Rainey, said: “Having acted for the Cathcart family for many years now and having spent time at this breathtaking estate, it’s an absolute privilege to be instructed on this box office NI sale.

“A heart-wrenching decision for the family, I know, but the time is absolutely right for a new chapter of history to be created by very lucky new owners!”

Neil added: “The calibre of real estate in Northern Ireland is right up there with the very best in the world and there is no better example of this than Ely Lodge Estate. It was a real pleasure working with the team at Savill’s on this significant project.”

He continued: “Our role to date has been to ensure the estate is market-ready from a legal perspective; we are proud to have supported our client in bringing such a remarkable property to market.”

Steeped in history, Ely Lodge was formerly the Ulster seat of the 5th Duke and Duchess of Westminster.

During the Second World War, it was used by the US Navy and later became the home of Lieutenant Colonel Robert Grosvenor, the 5th Duke of Westminster. It is also the birthplace of Gerald Grosvenor, the 6th Duke of Westminster.

The estate’s unique amenities include private jetties, boathouses, The Gully folly, and access to boating, fishing, and field sports, with shooting rights extending across 3,000 acres. It also benefits from outline planning permission for a new dwelling and domestic garage.
